About The Artist

Carrie was born in The Bronx, New York in 1961. In her later childhood years, her family relocated to Southern California. During a challenging transition in life, Carrie had an epiphany. One morning she noticed how artfully the natural sunlight streamed through the bathroom blinds, creating different geometric shapes and patterns. Impressed by the uniqueness, Carrie began to place rose petals and other objects at the bottom of her bathtub. She started to photograph the different compositions she had made. The natural light coming through the window became her palette, the camera became the brush, and the textured bottom of the tub became her canvas.

Carrie holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cal State Northridge. Besides photographing, she also writes poetry and is the author of two books. Her first book “When Lily Speaks” is a collection of poems and illustrations to inspire the reader. Her second book is a children’s picture book called “Tales From Wiggleberry.” Carrie is also an Early Childhood Development Educator.

She has been featured in many newspapers and magazines such as the Ventura County Star, Santa Barbara News Press, and the Canyon Country Magazine. She won Honorable Mention for her photography in the Santa Clarita Artist Association Art Classic and also won the City’s Choice Award for her piece called “A Reflection Of Me” in the Santa Clarita Rose Show. Currently, she is creating compositions with a new flare such as the ones featured in Gallery One on this website.
